Dragoneer's Aria is a turn-based Japanese role-playing game for the PlayStation Portable. You lead a small party through a fantasy world in which dragons pose a direct threat, exploring towns and dungeons between story scenes and building up your characters as you go. Battles are fought from a menu-driven interface, with physical attacks, magic, items and character-specific abilities chosen each turn against groups of enemies. Progress follows a linear narrative broken up by exploration, equipment upgrades and encounters with recurring enemies, and party members gain new options as they grow stronger. Presentation combines anime-style character art with 3D environments and combat. The handheld format suits the game's structure of short battles and frequent save points, making it suited to playing in shorter sessions.
