Dual Hearts is an action-adventure game for the PlayStation 2 with a bright, storybook presentation. You play a young treasure hunter who gains the ability to enter the dreams of others, accompanied by a companion creature that can be ridden and used to solve problems. Much of the game takes place inside these dream worlds, which act as themed stages full of enemies, platforming sections, hidden items and puzzles built around the pair's combined abilities. Outside the dreams there is a hub village to return to, where you talk to characters and pick up leads on where to go next. Combat is simple melee action, and progress comes from clearing dream areas and recovering treasure. The tone stays light throughout, with cartoon-styled characters and colourful environments.
