ECW Anarchy Rulz is a wrestling game based on Extreme Championship Wrestling, the promotion known for hardcore, weapon-heavy matches. You choose from a roster of ECW wrestlers and compete in singles and multi-competitor bouts, with an emphasis on brawling outside the ring, using chairs, tables and other objects, and fighting in areas beyond the ring apron. Match types cover standard contests alongside the no-disqualification and hardcore styles associated with the promotion. Grapples, strikes and pinning attempts are handled with a damage and momentum system, and there are options for creating your own wrestler and playing through modes that pursue championships. Multiple players can compete in the same match, making it primarily a pick-up-and-play wrestling title for a group.
