Ehrgeiz is a 3D fighting game for the PlayStation that gives its arenas full free movement, letting fighters run and reposition around large stages rather than trading blows on a single plane. The roster of original characters is joined by figures from Final Fantasy VII, including Cloud, Tifa, Yuffie, Sephiroth, Vincent and Zack, each with their own move sets. Alongside the standard versus and arcade-style fighting modes, the game includes a separate dungeon-crawling quest mode played from a different perspective, where you explore floors, fight enemies, gather equipment and manage stats and items in a role-playing framework. There are also side modes and mini-games. The result is a fighting game packaged with a substantial single-player adventure component built on the same characters and engine.
