Eragon on PlayStation Portable is a handheld version of the action game based on the fantasy story of a young farm boy who becomes bonded to a dragon. You guide Eragon through stages built around melee combat, using sword attacks and blocks against soldiers and creatures while magic abilities let you strike from a distance. Sections featuring the dragon Saphira break up the on-foot fighting with airborne encounters. The game follows the plot through cutscenes and locations taken from the film adaptation, moving between settlements, wilderness and fortresses as the story progresses. Levels are largely linear, with combat encounters and boss fights marking your progress, and your abilities expand as you advance.
