Eternal Eyes is a turn-based tactical role-playing game for the PlayStation. Battles play out on grid-based maps where you move each member of your party in turn, positioning them to attack, use magic or support allies. Its central hook involves dolls that can be transformed into creatures that fight alongside you, and those creatures can be developed further as you progress, changing their forms and abilities. Between fights the story advances through dialogue scenes and town visits, where you prepare your party for the next encounter. The game uses sprite-based characters on pre-rendered isometric battlefields, in keeping with other console strategy RPGs of its era. Expect a slower, planning-focused pace rather than real-time action.
