Evil Zone is a one-on-one fighting game with an anime presentation and a roster of characters who each get their own story mode and ending. Fights take place in enclosed 3D arenas, but the control scheme is deliberately simplified: attacks are performed with a single attack button used in combination with directional inputs, so special moves and combos come out without complex motions. Blocking, dashing and dodging around the arena handle the defensive side. Each character has a distinct set of flashy special attacks and super moves, along with voiced dialogue and cutscenes that frame their individual campaign. The design makes the game easy to pick up while still asking you to learn spacing and each fighter's ranges.
