Evolution Skateboarding is Konami's take on the trick-based skating genre. You ride through themed levels, stringing together ollies, grinds, grabs and flip tricks to build combo scores while completing the objectives set for each area. Course layouts are built around rails, ramps, gaps and other obstacles that let you plan longer lines, and clearing goals opens up further stages. Along with its skaters, the game features levels and unlockable characters taken from Konami's Metal Gear Solid series, sitting alongside the more standard skate parks and street environments. Controls use the familiar setup of jump, grind and trick modifier buttons with balance meters for grinds and manuals. There is a single-player progression mode plus multiplayer options for skating against another player.
