Expendable is a science fiction shooter for the PlayStation 1, released in some regions as Millennium Soldier: Expendable. You control an expendable clone soldier sent to retake facilities and worlds overrun by an alien force. The view is a rotated overhead perspective that follows you through corridors, industrial complexes and outdoor areas as you shoot swarms of enemies, blow apart scenery and hunt for keys and switches to open the way forward. Weapon pickups swap your standard gun for heavier ordnance with limited ammunition, and smart bombs clear the screen when you are surrounded. Boss creatures block progress at the end of stages. Lives are plentiful in keeping with the clone premise, and a two-player cooperative mode lets a second soldier join the fight.
