The PSP version of Family Guy is a handheld release of the game based on the animated series, keeping the three-character structure. Stewie's levels centre on shooting with his inventions, Brian's put you in stealth situations where being spotted is a problem, and Peter's are built around melee brawling. Cutscenes animated in the show's style link the stages together, with dialogue provided by the series voice cast and humour drawn from the same cutaway-gag sensibility. Levels use settings and characters familiar from the television episodes, and hidden collectibles are spread through the stages to find as you play. Because gameplay rotates between the three leads, the controls and objectives change from level to level rather than staying with a single style throughout.
