A PlayStation release in EA's annual football (soccer) series. You play with licensed clubs and national sides in exhibition matches, knockout cups and league seasons, controlling the action on a 3D pitch with selectable camera views. Passing, crossing, shooting, tackling and set pieces are handled with the standard controller layout, and you can set formations, tactics and substitutions around each match. Options let you change difficulty, half length and match conditions, and squad screens show player attributes before kick-off. Commentary, licensed kits and crowd effects make up the presentation, with a menu soundtrack in the series' usual style. Two players can compete on one console, and multitap support allows additional players to join for games with friends.
