The PlayStation version of FIFA 2002 offers licensed teams, players and competitions in EA's long-running football series. You pick a club or national side and play exhibition matches, league seasons, cup knockouts or international qualifying campaigns. Play uses a familiar control set for passing, lobbed balls, shooting, sliding tackles and set pieces, with formations and tactics selectable from the menus and adjustable at half time. Commentary and crowd audio accompany matches, and replays let you review goals. Squad screens let you swap players, choose substitutes and set your starting eleven before kick-off. Two players can share the console with a second controller, either head to head or on the same team. Difficulty settings, match length and rule options can be changed to suit the players.
