FIFA Soccer 12 is a handheld entry in EA's football series for the PlayStation Portable. You select from licensed clubs and international sides and play 11-a-side matches using controls for passing, through balls, crossing, shooting, sprinting and tackling, with dedicated aiming for free kicks, corners and penalties. Available modes include quick exhibition matches, league and knockout competitions, and a career track where you manage team selection, formations and player transfers across multiple seasons. Presentation follows the series' broadcast style, with commentary, replays and crowd audio scaled for the PSP. Ad hoc wireless support allows head-to-head matches with another PSP nearby. Like the other portable releases in the series, it runs on the handheld engine rather than the one used for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions.
