Fight Night Round 3 is a boxing game for the PlayStation 2 and continues the series' analog-stick punching controls, where you throw jabs, hooks and uppercuts by moving the right stick. Fights emphasise stamina management, blocking and countering, with heavy punches that can turn a round but leave you exposed. Boxers show cumulative facial damage as bouts wear on, and knockdowns put you into a recovery sequence to beat the count. A career mode has you building a created fighter through training and scheduled bouts on the way to title fights, while licensed professional boxers are available for one-off matches and tournaments. Two players can box against each other locally. Camera options include closer, more cinematic viewpoints alongside the traditional side-on presentation.
