Final Doom on PlayStation is a console conversion of the first-person shooter level sets released as follow-ups to Doom II. You work through a long run of separate maps, each dropping you into corridors and outdoor arenas filled with imps, zombie soldiers and heavier demons, hunting keycards and switches to open the exit. The weapon lineup is the familiar one, from pistol and shotgun up to the rocket launcher, plasma rifle and BFG, with health, armour and power-ups scattered around the maps to find. The PlayStation version replaces the PC music with a dark ambient soundtrack and adds coloured lighting effects to the levels. Difficulty settings adjust enemy numbers and aggression, and a link-cable option supports play with a second player on a second console.
