Full Spectrum Warrior is a squad tactics game in which you command infantry fire teams rather than controlling a single soldier directly. You issue movement and engagement orders, positioning your men behind cover, sending them across open ground in bounding rushes, and calling for suppressing fire so a second team can flank. Individual soldiers cannot be steered like an action-game avatar; instead you designate cover points and let the squad execute, which pushes you to think about sightlines, corners and crossfire. The setting is a modern urban conflict in a fictional country, with missions moving through streets, alleys and buildings. Wounded troops must be dragged to safety and evacuated, and running out of men ends the mission. The camera sits behind the squad, and orders are given through a context-sensitive interface tied to the environment.
