G-Police casts you as a pilot in a paramilitary police force, flying a heavily armed gunship through the vertical, neon-lit cityscape of a colony built on Jupiter's moon Callisto. Missions are given out through briefings and cover pursuit, escort, patrol, interception and building assault work, often requiring you to identify targets and avoid collateral damage rather than simply destroy everything in sight. The craft hovers and turns like a helicopter, with thrusters, VTOL handling and a selectable loadout of cannons, missiles and other ordnance. Flying between towers in enclosed airspace, frequently at night and in rain, is a significant part of the challenge alongside the combat itself. A conspiracy plot unfolds between missions through cutscenes and briefing text as your investigations continue.
