Ghostbusters: The Video Game on PlayStation 2 casts you as a new recruit joining the Ghostbusters, taking the field alongside the four familiar members of the team. You handle the proton pack yourself: wear a ghost down with the proton stream, wrangle it into position as it struggles, then drop a trap and reel it in. Other tools of the trade let you deal with different kinds of hauntings, and the PKE meter helps you sweep rooms for paranormal activity and hidden objects. This version of the game uses a stylised, cartoon-like art style rather than the realistic look of the higher-end console releases, with levels built around haunted locations, destructible scenery and boss encounters against larger entities. The original film cast contributes voice work.
