Giants: Citizen Kabuto on PlayStation 2 mixes third-person action with light strategy across three playable factions. As the Meccaryns you use jetpacks and firearms in fairly conventional shooting missions. The Sea Reaper side introduces spellcasting and base management, including gathering and protecting Smarties to build and upgrade structures. Playing as Kabuto, an enormous creature, shifts the perspective entirely: you smash buildings, throw enemies and eat them to restore health. The campaign moves between these viewpoints as its story progresses, so the pacing alternates between objective-driven combat, resource work and large-scale destruction. Levels are set on an open island world with water, cliffs and settlements, and the writing leans heavily on comedy and irreverent dialogue between missions.
