Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories returns to Liberty City in a story set before the events of Grand Theft Auto III. You play Toni Cipriani, a mobster working for the Leone family, carrying out jobs that pull him into conflicts between the city's crime factions. The structure follows the 3D-era template: a third-person open world where you can take on story missions, steal and drive cars, boats and motorcycles, or explore the city's islands as they unlock. Side activities and rampages are scattered around the map, and radio stations play while you drive. Police attention rises with a wanted level that must be lost by escaping or repainting your vehicle. This PlayStation 2 release is a conversion of the game originally made for handheld hardware.
