A side-scrolling shooter in which you pilot an armed submarine rather than a spacecraft. The submarine can move above and below the waterline, and the position of the water surface is central to play: you fire torpedoes and guns horizontally at ships and sea life, and launch missiles upward at aircraft and shore targets while waves break around you. Stages travel through harbours, ice fields, undersea ruins and industrial waterways, ending in large multi-part bosses that fill the screen. Enemy fire is dense and your craft is bulky, so weaving through openings and using the surface as a boundary shapes the moment-to-moment play. Weapon pickups upgrade your armament, and two players can take part together. The visuals use detailed pixel art with heavy destruction and layered water effects.
