Naruto Shippuden Legends: Akatsuki Rising is an action game for the PlayStation Portable set during the Shippuden portion of the series. Rather than a pure one-on-one fighter, it puts you in enclosed 3D areas where you move freely, chaining melee attacks, throwing projectiles and spending chakra on ninja techniques against groups of enemies and boss opponents. Missions follow story events from the Shippuden arcs, with cutscenes and dialogue between stages, and you play as characters from the cast as the situation demands. Support characters can be brought into battle to assist you, and clearing objectives unlocks further content and characters. The presentation uses cel-shaded visuals in keeping with the anime, and stages are structured to suit handheld play in relatively short bursts.
