Naruto: Ultimate Ninja Heroes brings the series' 2D-plane fighting to the PlayStation Portable. Matches take place in arenas where characters move on a single plane, using attack strings, jumps, guards, thrown weapons and chakra-powered ninja techniques, including cinematic Ultimate Jutsu attacks. Team battles are a focus here, letting you assemble a group of characters and switch between them mid-fight, so choosing a line-up and managing when to tag out becomes part of the strategy. Single-player content pits you against CPU opponents and unlocks additional characters and items, while ad hoc wireless play lets two PSP owners fight each other locally. Characters and stages come from the Naruto series and are presented in a cel-shaded style with anime-styled animation on special moves, and matches are short enough to suit handheld play.
