NCAA March Madness 2000 is a college basketball game for the PlayStation, built around licensed NCAA Division I programs and their arenas. You play full five-on-five basketball, calling offensive sets and defensive assignments before taking direct control of shooting, passing, rebounding and steals. Modes cover single exhibition games as well as tournament play, so you can work through bracket rounds toward a championship, and season options let you follow a program across a schedule. Difficulty and game length can be adjusted for quicker matches. Presentation follows the broadcast approach common to EA Sports titles of the era, with commentary, replays and crowd noise reacting to the action. Two players can play head-to-head with their chosen schools, and the college focus means fight songs, team colors and campus rivalries drive the atmosphere.
