Need for Speed Carbon: Own the City is the handheld counterpart to Carbon, built for PlayStation Portable rather than being a direct port of the console game. It follows a story told through cutscenes in which you race to uncover what happened to your brother, working through rival crews across a city divided into territories. Events include standard circuit and sprint races along with checkpoint and elimination-style challenges, and winning ground on the map opens up further races. Cars can be upgraded and visually modified as you progress, and crew members can be recruited to support you during races. Control is from a chase camera, with drifting and nitrous management central to keeping pace on tight urban courses. Multiplayer racing is supported over the system's wireless link.
