R-Types collects Irem's arcade side-scrolling shooters R-Type and R-Type II on a single PlayStation disc. Both games place you in control of a lone fighter facing the Bydo, working through stages of dense enemy formations, narrow organic corridors and multi-part bosses. The Force pod is central to play: it soaks up incoming shots, attaches to the front or back of your ship for close-range damage, or detaches to attack independently. Power-ups add beam types and trailing missiles, while the charge shot lets you release a stronger blast at the cost of waiting. Deaths send you back to checkpoints with reduced firepower, so learning stage layouts matters. The compilation lets you play either title separately and includes options for adjusting the presentation of the arcade originals.
This listing is for an authentic original disc — no reproductions. Every product we sell is cleaned and tested before it ships, and our games are backed by a 1-year warranty. Choose Game Only or Complete (CIB) above.
