Rogue Spear brings Tom Clancy's tactical counter-terrorism series to the PlayStation. You command a small squad of Rainbow operatives through hostage rescues and other missions where a single burst of gunfire can end a run. Before each assignment you review intelligence, pick your operatives and choose their weapons and equipment, then move through the level in first person, switching between team members or issuing orders as the situation develops. Enemies and your own soldiers die quickly, so slow movement, careful corner-clearing and use of cover matter more than reflexes. Missions can fail outright if a hostage is killed, encouraging repeated attempts and different approaches to the same building.
