Silhouette Mirage is a 2D action game from Treasure for the PlayStation. You play as Shyna, who can attack using two opposing attributes, Silhouette and Mirage. Which one she uses depends on the direction she faces, so positioning determines both the damage you deal and the damage you take: hitting an enemy with the matching attribute drains its energy in a different way than using the opposite one. Levels are side-scrolling stages built around platforming, varied enemy types and frequent boss fights, many of which have distinct patterns and gimmicks. Shyna gains additional moves and special attacks over the course of the game, and using them consumes a meter that must be managed. Dialogue between characters plays out between stages, and the game carries a cartoonish, offbeat visual style.
