A rail-based shooter built around full-motion video, continuing the story of the Rebel pilot Rookie One. Gameplay is largely on-rails: your ship or character moves along a set path through pre-rendered environments while you aim a reticle, fire and dodge incoming attacks. Sequences include starfighter flight, turret defense and on-foot shooting segments, interspersed with live-action cutscenes filmed with costumed actors and composited into digital sets. Missions take you through space battles, asteroid fields, hangars and Imperial installations, with mid-mission checkpoints and difficulty options. The presentation leans heavily on cinematic pacing, with briefings and story scenes between stages, and success depends on reflexes and pattern recognition rather than free-form navigation. The disc-based format uses full-motion video extensively throughout.
