The Force Unleashed casts you as Darth Vader's secret apprentice in the years between Episode III and Episode IV. Gameplay is third-person action combat, combining lightsaber strikes with Force powers such as push, grip, lightning and the ability to hurl objects and enemies around the environment. Combos chain saber attacks with telekinesis, and experience earned in combat is spent upgrading powers, talents and lightsaber crystals that alter blade color and damage. Missions take you to a series of planets and locations, fighting stormtroopers, droids, native creatures and boss opponents, with the story delivered through cutscenes between stages. The PlayStation 2 version is a separate build from the higher-end console releases, with its own level layouts and presentation, and it includes a versus duel mode for local play.
