Street Fighter Alpha 3 on PlayStation is the home conversion of Capcom's 2D arcade fighter. Before each match you choose one of three -isms for your character: A-ism, with multiple super combo levels and Alpha Counters; X-ism, a stripped-back style with a single stocked super; and V-ism, built around Custom Combos that let you chain moves while an afterimage mirrors your attacks. Fights run as best-of-three rounds with the six-button punch and kick layout, and characters have a Guard Power gauge that wears down under sustained blocking. The console version carries a larger roster than the original arcade release and adds World Tour, a single-player mode where you fight under special rule sets and earn upgrades for a saved fighter. Arcade, versus, survival and training options are included.
