Street Fighter EX3 is a PlayStation 2 fighting game using 3D character models on a 2D fighting plane. Its central addition is tag battle, where you assemble a team and swap fighters mid-match, with the possibility of team-up attacks when both characters are on screen at once. The Excel combo system returns, letting you cancel between moves within a timed window to build extended strings, and super combos use a multi-level gauge. The roster combines Street Fighter regulars with characters originating in the EX series. Modes include arcade play, versus, training and a character-raising mode in which a fighter gains new abilities over repeated matches. Standard six-button controls and traditional motion and charge inputs apply throughout.
