Street Sk8er 2 is a skateboarding game built around racing down long downhill courses rather than free-roaming a park. You steer a skater along a set route, weaving through traffic, pedestrians and street obstacles while keeping speed up, and you perform grinds, grabs and flip tricks over ramps and rails to build points along the way. Courses are laid out through city streets and other urban environments, with checkpoints or time limits shaping how far you get. A selection of skaters is available, each with their own stats and boards, and completing courses unlocks further characters, gear and tracks. Control emphasises momentum and line-taking, with trick inputs layered over the racing.
