Surf's Up is an arcade surfing game based on the animated film about a young penguin entering a surfing tournament. You ride procedurally shifting waves, carving for speed, hitting the lip for air, and stringing together spins, flips and grabs to build a trick score. Boost meters reward stylish riding, and tube sections offer bonus speed for holding a clean line. You play as characters taken from the movie, including Cody Maverick, competing across beach locations tied to the film's story. Modes include head-to-head races against rival surfers, score-attack style trick runs, and multiplayer competition on the same console. Cutscenes and voice work carry the plot between events. Handling is tuned for accessibility rather than realism, so wipeouts are quick to recover from and runs restart fast.
