Swagman is an action-adventure game set across a town and a nightmare world that bleeds into it. You control twin children, Zack and Hannah, and switch between them as you explore, with each child possessing different abilities that must be combined to progress past obstacles and puzzles. The presentation uses an overhead, roaming camera view through interconnected areas, mixing exploration and item collection with combat against creatures born of bad dreams. The story concerns the villain of the title, who has been stealing dreams from sleeping children, and the twins' attempt to set things right. Progress involves finding keys and equipment, working out how each sibling's skills apply to a given barrier, and navigating between the waking town and its darker counterpart. Puzzle solving carries as much weight as fighting.
