Syphon Filter 2 continues the espionage story of agent Gabe Logan and also puts you in control of Lian Xing, alternating between the two characters across the campaign. The third-person action returns with a mix of gunplay, stealth and timed objectives across locations including snowbound settings, aircraft, hospitals and military facilities. You use a range of firearms, explosives and the series' taser, aim precisely in a first-person view, and take cover or move quietly to avoid alerting guards. Objectives are given over the radio and often shift while a mission is underway. A split-screen multiplayer mode allows two players to fight each other in a selection of arenas with unlockable characters. Cutscenes between missions carry a plot of conspiracies, pursuit and government cover-ups.
