Tak and the Guardians of Gross is an action platformer in the Tak series, in which the young shaman Tak once again draws on juju magic to deal with a supernatural threat. Play mixes combat against groups of enemies with platforming across 3D environments, and Tak gains magical abilities over the course of the adventure that expand what he can do in fights and while exploring. The game keeps the series' cartoon look and its comedic, gross-out sense of humor, with monstrous enemy designs and exaggerated animation. Stages lead into boss encounters against larger creatures. It is a single-player adventure with a stage-based structure, aimed at players who want accessible combat and jumping rather than a demanding challenge.
