Tales of Destiny is a role-playing game for the original PlayStation and an entry in the Tales series. You follow Stahn Aileron, a young man who stows away on an airship and comes into possession of a Swordian, a talking sword with its own personality. Stahn gathers a party of companions as the story unfolds across towns, dungeons and a world map. Battles use the series' real-time Linear Motion Battle System, in which you move your character along a two-dimensional plane, attack directly and chain in special techniques while allies act under adjustable AI settings. Outside combat, party members trade optional skits and side conversations. Presentation combines 2D sprite characters with anime-style artwork, backed by an orchestral and rock-influenced soundtrack.
