Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 3: Mutant Nightmare is a 3D beat 'em up for PlayStation 2 based on the 2003 animated series, continuing the style of the previous console games with cel-shaded characters and voice acting in keeping with the show. You take control of Leonardo, Donatello, Raphael or Michelangelo, each with distinct weapons and moves, and fight through levels of Foot Soldiers and mutant enemies using combos, throws and special attacks. Levels mix scrolling brawler sections with arenas and boss fights, and there are upgrades and unlockable content to find along the way. April and Casey Jones figure into the storyline, and some segments break from standard turtle combat. Cooperative play allows a second player to drop in as another turtle.
