Tekken 2 continues the King of Iron Fist Tournament storyline with Heihachi Mishima and Kazuya at the centre of the plot. The four-button limb-based control scheme returns, expanded with a deeper throw system, throw escapes and reversals that let some characters counter incoming attacks. The roster grows over the first game, adding fighters such as Jun Kazama and Lei Wulong while keeping most of the original cast, each with their own arcade ending. The PlayStation version includes extra modes beyond straight arcade play, among them survival, team battle, time attack and practice, along with a gallery of unlockable content earned by completing runs. Two players can face off locally. Stages are enclosed arenas with no ring-outs, so matches are settled by health or the round timer.
