The Sims 2: Castaway moves the life simulation series to a deserted island. Your Sim is shipwrecked, and survival takes the place of suburban routine: you gather food, fresh water and materials, build shelter, and craft tools, clothing and furniture from what the island provides. Needs such as hunger, energy, hygiene and fun still have to be managed, but meeting them means fishing, cooking over a fire and finding safe places to sleep. Exploring different areas of the island uncovers new resources, recipes and locations, and you can find and recruit other stranded Sims to join your camp. Progress is driven by goals that push you further inland and toward the possibility of escape, with crafting recipes unlocking as you discover more.
