The Sims 2 for PlayStation 2 is a console-oriented entry in the life simulation series rather than a conversion of the PC game. You create a Sim, then manage needs such as hunger, sleep, hygiene and socializing while chasing the wants and dodging the fears that appear as the day unfolds. Earning money lets you buy furnishings and improve your home using building and buying menus designed for a controller. The game follows a story structure that takes your Sim to different locations, each with goals that unlock new items, areas and abilities. Relationships build through conversation and shared activities, and the results play out in the Sims' behaviour and moods. Dialogue is spoken in the series' made-up language.
