The Unholy War combines turn-based strategy with one-on-one arena combat on the PlayStation. Two factions, the magical Arcane and the mechanical Teknos, face off across a grid-based map. On the strategy layer you move units, capture positions and manage resources; when two units meet, the game drops into a real-time 3D duel where you control your creature directly, dodging, jumping and using its particular attacks to win the fight. Each unit type has its own weapons and abilities, so knowing matchups on the map and handling the controls in the arena both matter. Alongside the full strategy campaign there is a mode focused purely on the arena battles, which supports head-to-head play against another person. Units are lost permanently when defeated, making map decisions costly.
