Theme Hospital is a management sim in which you build and run a hospital. You lay out corridors and rooms, install diagnostic and treatment facilities, and hire doctors, nurses, receptionists and handymen, then keep the whole operation solvent. Patients arrive with invented, cartoonish ailments that must be diagnosed before they can be cured, each requiring its own specialised treatment room. Along the way you deal with queues, staff fatigue and training, litter, plumbing faults, epidemics and periodic emergencies, all while meeting the targets that unlock the next hospital. The tone is comic throughout, with deadpan announcements over the hospital tannoy. This PlayStation conversion adapts the mouse-driven interface to the controller, keeping the level progression and building tools of the original.
