Thousand Arms is a role-playing game that combines traditional RPG questing with dating-sim elements. You play as Meis Triumph, a young Spirit Blacksmith who forges and enchants weapons. The catch is that his forging power depends on his relationships: you take female characters on dates, choose dialogue carefully, and the resulting affection level determines how strong the weapons he creates can become. Exploration and story scenes play out in the usual RPG fashion, with towns, dungeons and an overworld to travel. Battles use a front-and-back row system in which melee fighters trade places with support characters, so positioning affects who can attack and who is protected. The presentation mixes anime-style cutscenes and character portraits with 3D environments, and much of the dialogue is voiced.
