Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2001 is a golf simulation for the PlayStation 2. You play rounds on 3D-rendered courses, selecting clubs and using a swing meter to set power and accuracy while accounting for wind, lie, elevation and the slope of the green. Shot shaping and spin let you work the ball around trouble, and the putting view shows the contour of the green for reading breaks. Tiger Woods is playable alongside other golfers, and you can create your own player and improve attributes over time. Modes include single rounds, tournaments and skill challenges, with multiplayer handled by passing the controller between players. The PS2 hardware is used for more detailed course scenery, golfer animation and crowd presentation, and commentary and on-screen shot data accompany each hole.
