Time Crisis 3 is a light gun shooter for the PlayStation 2, converted from the arcade game. It keeps the series' cover mechanic, where you hide to reload and dodge fire before leaning out to shoot, and the timer that extends as you clear each section. The main addition is a weapon-switching system: alongside the standard handgun you can swap to other firearms with limited ammunition, picked up from specific enemies during a stage. The game works with the GunCon 2 light gun or a standard controller. Play is on rails through a linear campaign of stages that end in boss fights. The home release includes extra content beyond the arcade mode, adding further missions and shooting challenges to work through.
