TimeSplitters 2 is a first-person shooter from Free Radical Design in which each story level drops you into a different point in history, from a Wild West town to a Siberian facility to a neon-lit future city. You play as time-hopping soldiers pursuing the TimeSplitters, completing objectives that change with the difficulty setting you choose. Alongside the story there is an arcade mode with a large roster of unlockable characters, adjustable bot opponents and a long list of match types, plus challenge missions built around tasks like head-shooting targets or smashing windows against the clock. A map maker lets you build your own arenas from tile sets, and split-screen play supports several players on one console. Controls emphasise fast movement and simple weapon handling rather than reloading realism.
