Tony Hawk's Proving Ground on PlayStation 2 continues the series' open-area skateboarding, with goals handed out by characters you meet while rolling around connected city environments. You create a skater and shape their path through career objectives, taking on challenges that range from score runs and lines to filmed sessions and specific trick requests. Combos are built from flip tricks, grinds, manuals and airs, and the game includes tools for customising your skater, gear and skate spots. Video capture and editing options let you record and cut together footage of your runs. Licensed professional skaters appear across the career. The PlayStation 2 edition is its own build rather than a direct match for the versions on newer hardware. Local multiplayer modes are included for two players.
