Tony Hawk's Pro Skater for PlayStation is a 3D skateboarding game in which you pick a professional skater and take on two-minute runs through skate parks and street courses. Control centres on building speed, launching off ramps and rails, and stringing together ollies, grinds, flip tricks and grabs to raise your score before touching down. Career mode gives each level a set of goals, including score targets, collecting the letters S-K-A-T-E and locating a hidden videotape, with completed objectives opening up new locations and competition stages judged on run scores. Free skate lets you explore courses without a clock, and a licensed punk, ska and hip-hop soundtrack plays during runs. Multiplayer modes let two players trade sessions on the same course.
